Consider Trump’s World Liberty Financial and the $TRUMP memecoin. Those seeking influence no longer need to book $100,000 hotel suites at Trump properties. Now, they can quietly buy into his crypto scheme, operating in the shadows and evading campaign finance laws.
Take Chinese cryptocurrency mogul Justin Sun. He invested at least $75 million into Trump's crypto venture just after the inauguration.
Weeks later, Trump's SEC quietly paused Sun's pending civil fraud case and began exploring a settlement. Sun was even appointed as an advisor to Trump's crypto company. Funny how that happens.
But Sun is just the beginning.
Trump's crypto empire includes not just the $TRUMP coin and World Liberty Financial but also Trump Media's forthcoming fintech investment fund. Trump-world figures have already made nearly $100 million from trading fees and profits.
According to SEC filings, World Liberty Financial is structured to funnel 75% of its net revenue to Trump or a Trump-affiliated company — but only after raising $30 million.
Justin Sun's investment helped clear that threshold almost immediately.
Because cryptocurrency is anonymous by design, we may never know who is buying presidential access or how much they paid.
We'll only see the effects: favorable regulations, lucrative contracts, and policy decisions made behind closed doors.
This is what modern corruption looks like. The architecture is new, but the outcome is the same: a president profiting off his office, trading power for personal gain.
At The Dekleptocracy Project, we're already tracking suspicious crypto movements, identifying market manipulation, and connecting them to real-world policy decisions.
We're building the tools to expose who's profiting from this corruption and how they're influencing the White House. But we can't do it alone.
Your monthly or one-time donation — whether it's $25, $50, $75, $100, or whatever you can give today — will help us expand our tracking capacity, arm journalists and lawmakers with hard evidence, and shine a light on this shadowy new system of influence-peddling.
Senator Chris Murphy is right — this may be the biggest scandal in the history of the presidency.
The wealthy and powerful are counting on this scheme staying in the shadows. Together, we can bring this and more into the light.
Thank you,
Kristofer Harrison
